Police Chase Ends With Car Fire On I-43, Arrests In New Berlin: Cops
A police pursuit on Interstate 43 ended after the suspect vehicle crashed on the Moorland Road off-ramp, New Berlin police said.
NEW BERLIN, WI — A pursuit early Friday morning on Interstate 43 in New Berlin ended with two arrests and a car in flames, according to the New Berlin Police Department.
Officers began a pursuit of a car near Small Road and College Avenue around 1 a.m., according to a news release from New Berlin police. Officers followed the vehicle onto northbound I-43 from the Racine Avenue ramp until the chase ended with the suspect crashing on the offramp to Moorland Road, police said.
Two suspects ran away as the car caught fire, but both were arrested with the help of New Berlin's police drone unit and the Waukesha County sheriff's K9 unit, according to police.

Police did not immediately specify what sparked the pursuit, but the news release said alcohol is believed to be a factor in the incident.
The New Berlin Fire Department extinguished the vehicle fire after the chase, police said. No officers or bystanders were injured.
