
The Oak Creek teachers' union, the Oak Creek Education Association (OCEA), is offering two (2) scholarships for high school seniors. On Monday, March 12th, the Representatives from each building voted to increase the scholarships from $600.00 to $1000.00 each.
The OCEA scholarships will be awarded to candidates who have demonstrated achievement in academics, involvement in extracurricular activities and participation in community service and/or events.
There are two categories; 1) Dependent or relative of an OCEA member or 2) OCHS senior who is not a dependent of, or related to, an OCEA member.

Eligibility: Nominee must:
1) be a high school senior nominated by an active OCEA member
2) choose to apply for either the Category 1 or Category 2, not both
3) plan to enroll is an accredited school/college in the year after high school graduation
4) have a high school GPA of at least 3.0
5) have take the ACT or SAT
6) have been involved in a variety of high school extracurricular activities
7) have been involved in at least one activity giving community service
See Mrs. Petre in the OCHS Guidance Office for the application and procedures for filing. The deadline for the application is April 5, 2012. Winners will be announced by May 23, 2012.
