• First responders in Milwaukee, Madison see success in first year of whole blood transfusion initiative (wpr.org) — Oak Creek firefighters are now among seven Milwaukee County departments carrying blood so paramedics can start life‑saving transfusions before patients reach the hospital. In the program’s first year, more than 100 Wisconsinites statewide have already received pre‑hospital blood, especially after crashes, gunshot wounds, and other severe trauma, putting our region at the forefront of emergency care.
