'Charley' Bites Oak Creek Officer During Chase Through Building

Police said they responded to the Emerald Row Apartments after "Charley" got loose and evaded his captors.

OAK CREEK, WI — Charley, a mutt terrier on the loose in an Oak Creek apartment, reportedly gave the officers who were chasing him all they could handle during an incident last week, according to police.

According to Oak Creek police call logs, officers were sent to the Emerald Row Apartments just after 9 a.m. on Feb. 23 on a report of a dog running loose in the halls of the first floor.

Police said an officer found the dog, a 30-pound terrier mutt named Charley, and requested an officer retrieve the dog catcher.

According to police, while officers were attempting to catch Charley, one officer was bitten. Charley was eventually caught, and Charley's owner was located.

Police said that Charley was up to date on his rabies vaccinations. Police cited Charley's owner for having a dog running around at large.
