Discussion on Temple Shootings To Be Held At OCHS

A program will be held at 5 p.m. Thursday at to "promote healing, encourage understanding, share perspectives and advance harmony."

U.S. Attorney James Santelle will moderate the two-hour session, which will include representatives of the Sikh Temples in Oak Creek and Brookfield, leaders of Sikh organizations and local government officials.

Community members can express their views about how to come together in the wake of the shootings Sunday at the Sikh Temple. Santelle said he hopes for a candid discussion with a wide range of perspectives.

"As we have done in other settings throughout the week," Santelle said in a news release, "we will be united tonight in thoughtful, honest, revelatory, and affirming discussion about the tragedy of last Sunday, about our sorrow in the profound loss of our fellow citizens, and about the future."

According to WISN-TV, Rev. Jesse Jackson is scheduled to attend and give the closing remarks.
