Fake Money Passed During Urgent Care Visit: Report

OAK CREEK, WI — Police in Oak Creek say there were no citations issued after a patient says he unknowingly passed a fake $20 bill during a visit to urgent care.
According to Oak Creek police call logs, officers were sent to the Drexel Town Square Health Center just after 11 a.m. on Jan. 21 on a report that a patient passed a fake $20 bill during a visit to urgent care.
Police said a hospital employee told police that a 32-year-old Milwaukee woman came into urgent care for treatment and paid for the copay with a $20 bill that was fake. When police questioned the woman, she told police she got the bill from her husband, a 45-year-old Milwaukee man.

According to police, the man told officers he owns a gas station in Milwaukee and sometimes pulls money from the cash register during times of need. He told police the $20 bill was his, but that he did not realize the bill was fake. No citations were issued, and the officer sent the fake bill to the secret service for cataloging and analysis.
