Hundreds Stolen From Oak Creek High Classroom: Report

Police in Oak Creek say they arrested a person who later admitted to stealing hundreds of dollars from an Oak Creek classroom.

OAK CREEK, WI — Police in Oak Creek say they've found the person responsible for stealing hundreds of dollars from a classroom inside Oak Creek High School after police call logs showed two separate incidents that were reported to authorities.

According to Oak Creek police call logs, a student resource officer working at Oak Creek High School was notified on Feb. 10 by a staff member that a total of $676 was taken from classroom 217 sometime in the last week.

Police said they questioned a nighttime cleaner, a 22-year-old West Allis woman, who admitted to taking the money from that classroom on Feb. 6.

According to Oak Creek police call logs, a school resource officer reported that about $411 was taken from the Oak Creek High School's band room over the last several weeks. Police said they learned about the incident at just after 4 p.m. on Feb. 7.

According to call logs, the money was taken from numerous envelopes located in the classroom office area from fundraisers and clothing purchases.

The school resource officer told police that he believed it was a nighttime cleaning person contracted through Programmed Cleaning Service. The officer then followed up with the contractor, over the matter.
