Milwaukee Man Led Police On Slow Chase; Had To Get To Work: Cops

According to police, when the officer asked the driver to leave his keys in the car's ignition prior to towing, the man drove away.

OAK CREEK, WI — Authorities in Oak Creek say Milwaukee man who really had to get to work led police on a slow, otherwise law-abiding pursuit after he was pulled over on his way to work for not having any car insurance.

According to Oak Creek police call logs, an officer on patrol at just before noon on Jan. 16 pulled over the driver of a vehicle for a routine traffic violation along the 100 block of W. Rawson Ave.

Police said the driver, a 38-year-old Milwaukee man, didn't have any insurance. When police told him that they were going to have to tow his vehicle, the man reportedly told police he had to get to work at PNS and refused to sign a bond guaranteeing his appearance in court.

A slow, and otherwise law-abiding police pursuit ensued. According to police call logs, police pursued the man as he maintained his speed and obeyed all traffic signals.
