OAK CREEK, WI — Police in Oak Creek say they had to pound on the car window to wake a woman who had passed out behind the wheel of a running car last week in an apparent drunken driving incident.

According to Oak Creek police call logs, a concerned citizen called police just after 2 a.m. on Feb. 21 to report a potentially impaired driver heading south on Howell Ave. from Forest Hill Ave., saying that the driver was swerving, changing speeds, and nearly sideswiped another car.

Police said they found the suspect's vehicle in a parking lot on W. Sunnyview Drive. The officer who spotted the car said the driver was passed out with her face against the steering wheel while the car was still running.
