'Oak Creek Idol' Competition Finals Set For Saturday At Beer Garden

OAK CREEK, WI — The finals for Oak Creek's own "Idol Showcase," a competition featuring musical and vocal talent from across the city, is scheduled to take place alongside Oak Creek's final pop-up beer garden of the season at Drexel Town Square on Saturday.

The Oak Creek Idol Showcase Finals features two age categories, one for ages 4-12, and another for everyone 13 and older, according to a news release from the city. The event, promised by the city to be an "unforgettable experience celebrating exceptional talent and showcasing the best vocal performances the city has to offer," is set to begin at 2 p.m.

The winner from competitions the younger age group is set to receive a trophy plus a prize of $500, the city said, while the winner of the older group will get $1,000 alongside a trophy. Contestants include Zach Behling, Cherigale Buchanan, Alexus Coleman, Emerson Dabaets, Miah James, Ava Pasierb, Avery Meachum, Kayla Ozier, Stephanie Williams, and Artavia Williams-Sandoval, the city said.

Judges at the competition will include Tommy Gunn, Renee Pahlisch and Pete Syren, the city said.

"We are excited to witness the culmination of Oak Creek Idol, a platform that showcases the immense musical talent within our community," said Idol Showcase Organizer Paula Nevarez in a news release. "This event is not just about finding a winner but celebrating the power of music to unite us all and bring joy to our lives."

Visitors to Drexel Town Square will find the pop-up beer garden, with cold drinks, games, and more, open from Thursday until Saturday's Oak Creek Idol Finals. The beer garden takes place every third weekend of the month between June and August.
