Oak Creek Plans 2021 Thanksgiving Turkey Trek In Emerald Preserve

Oak Creek is planning to host a Community Turkey Trek on Thursday in the Emerald Preserve near Drexel Town Square.

OAK CREEK, WI — For those looking to start their Thanksgiving with a spring in their step, there is the 10th annual Oak Creek Thanksgiving Day Community Turkey Trek on Thursday.

The city plans on hosting the community event 8-9 a.m. at the Emerald Preserve near Drexel Town Square. Alongside the forest preserve walk, organizers are encouraging everyone who attends to bring one or more healthy, non-perishable food items that will be donated to a local food pantry.

Those who are not looking to walk but are willing to donate can also drop off food items at the preserve. The city's website said to donate, "look for the trailer near the entrance to Emerald Preserve."

The Emerald Preserve entrance is located at East Oakfield Drive in Oak Creek.

"Spend a little time in the outdoors with your family, while saying holiday hellos to friends, neighbors, and some of Oak Creek's elected officials and their families," the city's website says about the event.
