Police Called On Oak Creek's 'Santa Bob': Report

"Santa Bob" hangs out in the median of W. College Ave. and a woman called police based on her suspicions, police said.

OAK CREEK, WI —

According to Oak Creek police call logs, a woman called police at just before 1 p.m. on Dec. 21 over a man named "Santa Bob."

According to police, a woman called police, saying she was upset that drivers were slowing down traffic so they could take a look and have a picture taken with a man dressed in a Santa outfit on the 2100 block of W. College Ave.

Police call logs stated the woman watched as Santa handed a couple a candy cane in what appeared to be in exchange for money.

A police officer saw two people in a white truck stop to take a picture with "Santa Bob." When the officer asked the driver if Santa asked for money for the picture, the driver said that Santa Bob never asks for money.

According to the call log,"the caller had clear distaste for the Santa as she stated he lives near her and they had disorderly conduct problems in the past."

Police said they saw the Santa she was talking about, but did not arrested him because he was not soliciting, and was in the public right-of-way, and that it was not unlawful for him to accept money as a gift.
