Police Report Door-To-Door Utility Scam In Oak Creek
Police said one of the men tried to lure all residents in the home outside while the other man was out-of-sight yet still in the truck.

OAK CREEK, WI — Police in Oak Creek are warning the public after a report of a possible door-to-door utility scam that happened in Oak Creek this week.
On Sunday, Feb. 9, officers in Oak Creek received a complaint from a homeowner, who said two men who approached their home, posing as utility company employees. Police said both suspects approached the home in a newer white pick-up truck, possibly a Ford F-150 or F-250, without identifying local utility company badges.
Police said one of the men tried to lure all residents in the home outside while the other man was out-of-sight yet still in the truck, police said Monday. "When the homeowner was going to secure the front door the supposed employee left immediately."

The utility company told Oak Creek police they had no employees in the area at the time of the suspicious incident.
According to Oak Creek police, the homeowner said one of the suspects stood about 5-foot-5 and weighed about 150 pounds. He did not wear any identifying utility company clothing, the witness said.

"If approached, do not let strangers into your home until you can verify identity, or contact the police department," police said.
