Power Outages Linger After Monday's Storms In Oak Creek

Multiple power outages remained in Oak Creek into Tuesday after a storm. We Energies said it's planning to resolve most outages by noon.

OAK CREEK, WI — We Energies hopes to fix 90 percent of the remaining power outages after Monday night's storm by 12 p.m. on Tuesday, with any remaining outages restored or assigned by 7 p.m., the company said in a Facebook post.

Multiple outages, leaving at least 3,000 without power, remained in the Oak Creek area into Tuesday morning after thunderstorms struck on Monday. About 45,000 We Energies customers across the utility's region lost power after the storms, the company said.

Altogether across the region, about 20,000 customers were still waiting for restoration into Tuesday morning, according to the We Energies outage tracker.

Many of the outages reported in the Oak Creek area appear to be from trees, according to the We Energies outage tracker. Other outages have not yet had reasons reported.

The power outages come as a heat advisory is in effect for much of the Milwaukee area. A temperature index of around 100 is expected Tuesday and Wednesday.
