"Due to ongoing safety concerns, all schools in the Shorewood School District and all school activities (including Recreation Department activities) will be closed to students, staff, and families on Wednesday, November 13th. A 14-year-old Shorewood High School student was arrested Tuesday after another student told authorities that the student in question created a hit list. Police reportedly made an arrest, and found that the student possessed a loaded gun clip. Police said they later found the gun, however the student at no time had it in his possession.
Shorewood police said they received a bulletin from the Federal Bureau of Investigation the next day on Nov. 13, saying there was a second person involved in the "hit list." Police immediately began an investigation into the matter, and found that the 14-year-old student acted alone.
The incident prompted district officials to close all Shorewood schools on Wednesday, however they were open the following day.
