• COUNTDOWN 2 CHRISTMAS: Oshkosh friend group adds to the holiday spirit with ‘Christmas Blessing Breakfast' (wbay.com) — A group of Oshkosh women turned breakfast at the Mineshaft into a surprise $800 tip for a local waitress, hoping to spark more generosity around town. Their “Christmas Blessing Breakfast” tradition, now in its second year, helps hardworking residents cover essentials and holiday gifts while encouraging others to share their own blessings. 
• Wis. firefighter killed in crash while traveling for work (firerescue1.com) — Oshkosh is mourning firefighter/paramedic Tom Diener, who died after a work-related vehicle crash on an Indiana highway while traveling with two fellow Oshkosh firefighters. The Oshkosh Fire Department and a statewide firefighters’ foundation have launched a donation page to honor Diener and support injured colleagues Carter Haen and Robbie Betts as they recover.
• Wisconsin construction boom fueled by data centers (dailyreporter.com) — Major work is underway to rebuild and widen 23 miles of I-41 between Oshkosh and De Pere, part of a broader $1.2 billion project that will affect thousands of daily drivers. That highway overhaul sits alongside a wave of big-ticket Wisconsin construction, from massive AI-focused data centers to new gas plants, housing towers, and museum and campus projects reshaping cities statewide.
