📰 News we're reading

• Ralph Daring (vcnewsreview.com) — Port Washington readers may recognize the name of Ralph Daring through his son Mason, who lives in the city. Ralph, a 62-year-old self-employed painter and drywaller from Conover, passed away on Dec. 28, 2025, and is remembered for his love of music, fishing, Harley rebuilding, and local leagues, with a celebration of life to be announced later.

• Ozaukee County loose sheep; 1 of 2 captured, now in Germantown (fox6now.com) — One of the two sheep that had been roaming Ozaukee County, including sightings as far north as Port Washington, has finally been captured and rehomed on a Germantown farm. The white sheep, now nicknamed “Hilda Houdini,” was lured in by another sheep, while the second, darker sheep remains missing and its origins are still unknown.
