The Cerebral Palsy Spring Fling Dance is THIS Saturday April 14th, 2012 from 6:30pm-10:30pm at the Waukesha Elks Lodge (#400) @ 2301 Springdale Rd. Waukesha. For more info contact Marty or Pat Plutowski@ 544-5949.
The CP parent support group fundraiser is held each year to raise money for their children to go to a week long camp. These sweet special kids have the greatest time and look forward to seeing their friends at camp all year! But there is a big cost in providing the care to have someone with them 24/7. That is why they hold this very important annual fundraiser.
This camp is more special to these kids and ever so needed for their parents. The statistics show the divorce rates for parents of children with special needs is much higher than parents without. Just think of how hard it must be for the parents of the children to find a babysitter so they can take time for their relationship to go on a simple date.
This is a special year though for the group. Last year the kids created their own 4 foot by 4 foot painting to help raise money for the raffle. It is now hung in the Waukesha Elks Lodge #400 who so very graciously donate not only their hall each year but so many raffle items and moneys for the kids.
The kids growing up together almost 20 years had a wonderful memorable time painting together, but no one would have expected it to be the last.

The group lost one of their boys this winter, his name Brandon Marx.
"It will be very different without him there this year. It's going to be rough," said Pam Middleton, one of the parents of the group. "We want to do something special for him, in his name."
