Waukesha County Drug Free Communities (DFC), in partnership with La Casa de Esperanza, Inc., will be hosting two community forums, one in English and the other in Spanish, for parents and teens on the consequences of substance abuse among Waukesha County youth. According to the National Center on Addiction and Substance Abuse, 90% of all addictions start in the teen years.
The first forum, presented in English, will take place on Tuesday, April 24, at 6:30 p.m. in the Waukesha West High School Auditorium. The second forum, presented in Spanish, will take place on Thursday, April 26, at 6:30 p.m. in the Waukesha South High School Auditorium. Snacks and refreshments will be provided and free childcare is available on site.
The events will feature a panel including a Waukesha County court representative, a parent, a student and a substance abuse professional. Panelists will share insights on alcohol and drug use and provide information on what you can do to help solve this local problem.
