Waukesha Public Library is launching a new program series, SUNDAYS with TED.com, on January 29. This four-part series is based on the popular internet TEDTalks. Each free program begins at 1:30 p.m., the last Sunday of the month, in the Library’s Community Room. The programs feature a short video presentation (TEDTalk), followed by a presentation by a local scholar or subject expert and audience discussion on the presentations and related ideas.
Founded as a nonprofit group in 1984, TED.com’s initial goal was to bring together people from the worlds of Technology, Entertainment and Design (TED) to discuss ‘Ideas Worth Spreading.’ Since then, its scope has grown to include discussions on education, science, business and much more. TED believes passionately in the power of ideas to change attitudes, lives and, ultimately, the world.
