The Healing Center will host the Third Annual Hope Shining Gala in honor of the individuals it serves on Dec. 1 from 5:30 to 8:30 p.m. at the Marian Center, 3211 S. Lake Drive in Saint Francis.
The event is open to the public and will include a silent auction, dinner, live music and inspiring speeches from survivors and local supporters. All proceeds from the event will benefit The Healing Center in its mission to provide services for survivors.
The Healing Center will present hope shining awards to Sara Lewis, Milwaukee County assistant district attorney, and Gina Barton, Milwaukee Journal Sentinel reporter, for their dedication to survivors of sexual violence.

The Healing Center was founded in 2000 by a group of survivors, service providers, and community members whose goal it was to create an innovative advocacy center for those affected by sexual violence. Though affiliated with Aurora Sinai Medical Center (ASMC), The Healing Center is an independently funded program.
