Man Arrested Following Car Pursuit in Waukesha: Police

Contraband was found inside the car early Monday, police said.

WAUKESHA, WI— A 37-year-old man was arrested following a police pursuit early Monday in Waukesha. Waukesha Police did a traffic stop on a car at Manhattan Drive and East Moreland Boulevard.

An officer noticed contraband in the car a nd the driver sped away during the stop, according to Dan Baumann, captain of police.

After a short pursuit the car went off the road and slid into a tree. The driver fled on foot but officers were able to catch and arrest him, Baumann said.

The man was not a resident of Waukesha, Baumann said.
