Weekend competition took place as students competed in Robot Wars matches.

Students competed in the First LEGO League regional tournament.

The LEGO League is a worldwide competition. The regional event in Wisconsin drew 34 teams to to complete a series of tasks. Judges then hand out awards to the top teams, advancing them to the state tournament on Dec. 11.

During the day-long competition, students created art boards with information on their topic, competed in a Robot Wars match, and event took the to main stage where their creations were projected on huge screens.

The 12 awards, ranging from best robot programming to best teamwork, were announced on Sunday. Here are the winners:
