Vrakas: Waukesha County Open for Business
Dan Vrakas shares what Kohl's Corporation's decision to remain in Menomonee Falls means for all of Waukesha County.

In mid July, we received word that the Kohl’s Corporation is going to be maintaining and . I was very pleased when I heard this news as Waukesha County values the role that Kohl’s plays in our county very much.
Kohl’s is one of the largest employer in Waukesha County and has played a critical role in creating jobs and developing the economic identity of the County. I am grateful they have decided to expand here and play an equally critical role in Waukesha County’s future.
Growing our economy takes a team effort. I would like to thank the leadership of the Village of Menomonee Falls and the Wisconsin Economic Development Corporation for working so closely with the Kohl’s Corporation to ensure it will remain a Wisconsin-based company for years to come.
Supporting businesses to create jobs is a priority for Waukesha County. Through
our highway department, we are working to ensure transportation infrastructure is meeting the needs of our employers. Our Parks and Land Use Zoning Division helps businesses work through the zoning and permitting process. Our Workforce Development Center connects employers with a skilled and educated workforce. The Waukesha County Economic Development Corporation assists businesses expanding in, or considering locating in, the County.
Last year, we launched the Waukesha County Leveraged Loan Program aimed at helping small businesses grow by allowing them to borrow up to $50,000 to help fill their capital requirements to secure larger funding needs through banks and other financial sources. These are just some of the things we are doing to support job growth.
