Waukesha County Sheriff Warns Of People Entering Unlocked Cars
The incidents were reported in the Village of Sussex, Village of Wales, Town of Lisbon and Town of Merten.
WAUKESHA,WI —The Waukesha County Sheriff's Office issued a warning about people entering unlocked cars and car thefts. Police have received calls between October 12-15.
According to a news release from the sheriff's office, the main areas where the crimes are being committed are in the Village of Sussex, Village of Wales, Town of Lisbon and Town of Merton.
People are entering unlocked cars and removing items such as money, credit cards, laptops, garage door openers and, in some cases, keys left in cars and stealing cars. People are also using the garage door openers to gain access to the garage, the release said.

The Waukesha County Sheriff's Office is reminding everyone to be vigilant in locking up cars, even if it's in the driveway, and to remove all valuables from inside the car, including the garage door opener. Officials also reminded residents to lock their home doors.
