8th Annual Charity Tennis Tournament at Hart Park this August

Waukesha native hosting 8th Annual Charity Tennis Tournament in Wauwatosa August 7th!

Waukesha native and nonprofit founder Kelly Johnson, really enjoys making a difference in the community -- as she started her own nonprofit, the Kelly Johnson Foundation (KJF) in 2014. With her background in coaching college tennis and competing, she began hosting tennis tournaments to raise money for her nonprofit and its Johnson Family Scholarship Program, which benefits local high schools in Wisconsin and Illinois. This year, the 8th Annual Johnson Summer Classic Tennis Tournament will be hosted at Hart Park in Wauwatosa on Saturday, August 7th.

"We had great success in the city of Madison and Milwaukee, increasing the number of participants and scholarship funds raised over the years, growing the Kelly Johnson Foundation and its community impact. Since graduating UW-Madison and noticing more players driving around just to compete, I realized we needed to relocate closer to our KJF supporters. With our new location for 2021, we get to make a mark in Milwaukee County and see new local players compete and have fun at the Johnson Summer Classic said Kelly Johnson, tournament director.

The 8th Annual Johnson Summer Classic Tennis Tournament will be held Saturday, August 7th. Registration for the Johnson Summer Classic can be done online at http://www.kjfwi.org/events/johnson-summer-classic/. Entry is only $30 per singles player. Registration closes Wednesday, July 31st. The Johnson Summer Classic is an USTA-sanctioned event. All players welcome as there are 8 divisions to play at various skill levels. This year, the Kelly Johnson Foundation is proud to announce Flora Fruit Company and Wilson Sporting Goods as official event sponsors. All proceeds support the Johnson Family Scholarship program.
