BEST OF BACHARACH AT SIDENOTES CABARET at Sunset Playhouse

Syncopated rhythms, unique chord progressions, and romantic ballads will be part of a Valentine’s Day celebration as SideNotes Cabaret presents BEST OF BACHARACH February 9 - 13, 2023 at Sunset Playhouse in Elm Grove.

Highlighting a career that spans more than fifty years, vocalists CECILIA DAVIS and ADAM ESTES will star in this exciting retrospective of Bacharach’s compositions. The cabaret is produced, directed, and written by PEGGY PETERSON RYAN.

A Milwaukee native and classically trained soprano, Davis has appeared with local companies in principal and supporting roles. Highlights include Clara in THE GERSHWINS’ PORGY AND BESS and the ensemble of LES MISÉRABLES with Skylight Music Theatre. Her appearances with Milwaukee Opera Theater include ERNEST IN LOVE and THE MEANING OF CHRISTMAS.

In addition to numerous TV commercials and extensive recording with Hal Leonard, Estes’ credits include work with The Goodman Theater, Writers’ Theater, Marriott Lincolnshire, Ravinia Festival, and Arvada Center. He has appeared locally with the Milwaukee Rep, Florentine Opera, Skylight Music Theatre, and First Stage Children’s Theatre.

The vocalists will be accompanied by a trio of outstanding musicians. Music Director and pianist JOHNNY RODGERS is a renowned Broadway veteran with multiple performance and songwriting awards. Bassist HAL MILLER has worked with many jazz notables and is Associate Music Professor at MATC. Drummer JIM RYAN appears with several small combos and big bands and maintains a private drum instruction studio.

Performances are Thursday through Saturday, February 9 - 11, 2023 at 7:30 p.m. and Sunday, February 12, 2023 at 2:30 p.m.
