Delicious Bites Proposes Storefront In Wauwatosa

WAUWATOSA, WI—The Wauwatosa Plan Commission will consider a proposed grab-and-go restaurant during its Nov. 8 meeting.

A public hearing is also scheduled for Delicious Bites located at 6538 W. North Avenue. The location is in the former Indulgence Chocolatiers retail shop.

Tomira White, owner, will offer wraps, sandwiches, entrees, salads, and desserts. White said she hopes to open in December.

She operates the business with her husband Corey and son Drew.

The restaurant will offer grilled chicken pitas, grits, and jerk salmon salad among other menu items.

The couple also has a catering business, Delicious Bites, at Upstart Kitchen at 4325 W. Fond du Lac Ave.

Cooking has always been a part of her life.

"My grandmother was always cooking when I was a kid. Cooking was always around no matter how many times I tried to get away from it," she told Patch.

White said she finally gave in and embraced the culinary field.

White said the storefront idea in Wauwatosa was a random opportunity.

"My sister was looking at spaces for other stuff and found it," she said.

White added the North Avenue location will be good for the business. It appears the Wauwatosa community is also excited.

"I've been getting quite the number of emails and comments on social media. I didn't expect it to be so well-received," White said.

On the Delicious Bites website, there is an opportunity to support the business and contribute to the costs of building out the new Wauwatosa location.

"People can make donations to our growth. Any help we would appreciate it," she said.

Until the store officially opens, hungry customers can purchase Delicious Bites offerings for pre-order and delivery.

From 11 a.m. to 3 p.m. Sunday, Delicious Bites will have a pop up at the Sherman Phoenix for the Kujichagalia Culinary Market,3536 W. Fond du Lac Ave.
