Extra Patrols Around Wauwatosa School After ‘Incident’: School

There was an incident involving a student and a driver, according to Roosevelt Elementary School.

WAUWATOSA, WI— There will be extra patrols around a Wauwatosa school for the rest of the week following an incident Wednesday morning.

On Wednesday, a student was on their way to Roosevelt Elementary School, located at 2535 N. 73rd St., when they had “an interaction with a driver,” according to an email from the school.

The student rode away quickly on their bike and told an adult, the school said.

The email didn’t explain what the interaction was between the driver and student.

“The Wauwatosa Police Department was immediately called and has not uncovered any information that leads us to believe that anyone was in danger or may be in danger due to an incident of this nature,” the school said.

Police do not have any leads to follow up on at this time.Anyone with information is being asked to contact the Wauwatosa Police Department at 414-471-8430.

“Please use this opportunity as a teachable moment and remind your students to be aware of their surroundings when they are walking and biking to and from school,” the school said.
