Two Victims Report Separate Strong-Arm Robberies

A West Allis man and a Milwaukee woman reported they were robbed in Wauwatosa in separate incidents, although the circumstances were very different.

The male victim said he was cold-cocked, knocked unconscious and robbed by a stranger as he swayed down a west side sidewalk a bit inebriated, while the woman said she was robbed by an acquaintance in the parking lot at Mayfair Mall.

According to police reports:

At 10:22 p.m. Saturday, the West Allis man reported that he had been attacked and robbed while walking somewhere between North 109^th and 111^th streets along Blue Mound Road.

The man was somewhat intoxicated when police reached him at the 7-Eleven gas and convenience store 11216 Blue Mound, where he had gone to call 911. He could not recall at the time exactly what had happened or where, but he knew someone had hit him without warning and robbed him of some cash.

He had a lump on his head and a small gash near his left eye. Later, after sobering up, he told police that he had taken a cab part way to his grandson’s home but was walking the last several blocks.

He had walked about one block from where the cab dropped him off, he said, when he was smacked in the head with a fist or, he thought more likely, a hard object, completely without warning.

He dropped instantly and blacked out, he said, so he saw nothing of his assailant. When he came to, he was missing cash from his pants pocket.

Woman says acquaintance robbed her at Mayfair

A Milwaukee woman reported that between 2:15 and 2:30 a.m. Friday, she had been beaten and robbed in her car in the parking lot of Mayfair Mall by a known suspect.

She said the man, a friend of her brother’s, had given her a ride to Mayfair, and that after they had shopped awhile and were just leaving in his car, he accused her of stealing $20 from him, which she denied.

He began to punch her, she said, then grabbed her purse and stole $20 out of it. Then, she said, he held her and wouldn’t let her out of the car at Mayfair, but drove her to North 60^th and Burleigh streets where he ordered her out.

Police had not yet been able to contact the suspect as of the filing of the report.
