Neighbor Spots Suspicious Subjects; Home Found Burglarized
Strange behavior attracts the notice of a neighbor, who leads police to uncover a break-in. But the suspects escape in stolen pickup truck.

Wauwatosa police officers investigating a suspicious vehicle and two subjects associated with it found that a home in the 2600 block of North 85th Street had been burglarized between 8 and 8:30 p.m. Tuesday.
A caller told police that he had seen a pickup truck parked at North 85th and Clarke streets and that a man had walked back to it through several neighboring yards. As the truck drove away, the witness saw someone in the passenger seat toss several Mason jars out the window.
Officers located the caller and had him lead the way back to where he had seen the suspicious man coming from. The trail led them to the burglarized home.

A window had been smashed and the side door was standing wide open. When the owner was located and returned home, he found he was missing 15 jars of change that he estimated held about $30 each, a digital camera and 30 Lincoln nickels worth $4 or $5 each.
The man who called police got the license number of the truck, which proved to have been reported stolen in Milwaukee.
