WAUWATOSA, WI — A fundraiser made $1,291 to support Wauwatosa police Officer Tracy Burbach's bike ride in memory of her police partner, Jennifer Sebena, who was killed in the line of duty.

The check was presented on Monday to Burbach at Metcalfe's Market.

Sebena's husband, former Marine and Menomonee Falls resident Benjamin Sebena, was sentenced in 2013 to life in prison with the possibility of parole in 35 years after pleading guilty to killing her.

Jennifer Sebena had been on the police force for two years and graduated at the top of her class at the Milwaukee Area Technical College Law Enforcement Regional Training Center. She had gone on solo patrol in July and had been assigned to the night shift only about a month before her death.

Jennifer Sebena was buried with full honors in a memorial service attended by hundreds of law enforcement officers from across Wisconsin and other states. She was the first officer to be killed in the line of duty in the 96-year history of the Wauwatosa Police Department.
