• Free Money! Meet the guy who is hiding cash around Milwaukee (tmj4.com) — From a Wauwatosa dateline, a Milwaukee resident is gaining attention for hiding small stashes of cash around the metro area and now running online guessing games to give money directly to residents. Nigerian immigrant Ben Adebiyi started “Find The Cash MKE” in 2025 and has already given away nearly $3,000, adjusting his approach in winter so people aren’t searching outdoors in the cold. He says he’ll keep going as long as the community appreciates it.
   

• Property taxes surge to highest levels in decades (rivernewsonline.com) — Wauwatosa homeowners are among those seeing some of the steepest school property tax hikes in Wisconsin, with levies in large suburban districts like Wauwatosa jumping more than 30%. A new Wisconsin Policy Forum report ties the surge to frozen state school aids, a long-running per-pupil revenue increase, and record numbers of school referendums, while Republicans and Democrats trade blame over how the state funds education.
   

• Lawmakers aim to make menstrual products free for Wisconsinites locked up in jails, prisons (wpr.org) — A Wauwatosa-based lawmaker is helping lead a push to guarantee free menstrual products and personal hygiene stipends for people incarcerated in Wisconsin prisons and jails. Supporters say inconsistent access to pads, tampons, deodorant, and culturally appropriate products is degrading and unhealthy, while corrections officials and sheriffs warn the bills could become costly unfunded mandates. The measures still must clear Wisconsin’s Republican-controlled Legislature.
