Salons, Playgrounds Can Open Under Wauwatosa Safer At Home Order

Wauwatosa officials clarified what can open and what must remain closed under the local order.

WAUWATOSA, WI — Hours after the Wisconsin Supreme Court struck down Gov. Tony Evers' Safer At Home order, local officials with the Wauwatosa Health Department issued their own order, keeping certain restrictions in place at least until the end of the day on May 21.

Wauwatosa and other municipalities issued a local order. Here are the highlights:

  • All public and private gatherings are allowed up to 10 people.
  • Retail establishments, including indoor malls, can open under certain conditions.
  • Restaurants and bars are carryout only. No food or beverages should be consumed on the premises.
  • Salons and spas can open under certain conditions.
  • Playgrounds can open.
  • Libraries remain closed but can offer curbside pickup. The Wauwatosa Public Library is offering curbside pickup.
