Tosa Man Severely Battered Sister-in-Law, Police Say

A 35-year-old Wauwatosa man was arrested last Sunday on suspicion of substantial battery after his sister-in-law, of Brown Deer, sustained serious head injuries while she was at his home in the 10200 block of West Nash Street.

According to Wauwatosa police reports:

The woman told police that her husband and his several brothers had a business buying and selling cars, and she had gotten into an argument with one of them about a car they owned that had been reported stolen and then recovered in Milwaukee.

She believed that her husband’s brother had sold the car for drug money, she said. He became irate and, just outside the front door, grabbed her by the hair from behind, yanked her down and smacked her head into the concrete walk at least three times.

The woman’s 7-year-old daughter witnessed the incident and corroborated her mother’s story, adding that her uncle was “mean” and “a bad person.”

The woman was first interviewed at Froedtert Hospital, where she had been treated and was still under observation for a likely concussion. The victim said she had been knocked briefly unconscious by the blows.

She had an unknown number of interior stitches and 14 exterior stitches to close a deep laceration on her forehead. On Tuesday, the victim reported that she was still suffering dizziness and blurred vision.

The suspect was being held at the Milwaukee County Jail, and his case was to have been presented to the district attorney Wednesday or Thursday.
