You Can Almost Taste the Approval for Hoyt Park Beer Garden

Wauwatosa's Common Council considers permits for two significant upgrades to community facilities.

The last official hurdle to opening the tap at the Hoyt Park and Pool Beer Garden is set to be cleared Tuesday when the Wauwatosa Common Council votes on the conditional use permit.

July is the expected opening for the beer garden, with proposed hours of 3 p.m. to 9 p.m. Wednesday through Sunday. Planners approved the application by a 5-1-2 vote.

Breitlow Field also is due for a facelift if the aldermen approve a different conditional use permit Tuesday. The Wauwatosa School Board already has OK’d $1.25 million for the construction of two baseball diamonds with artificial turf infields.

The council meets at 7:30 p.m. Tuesday in chambers at 7725 W. North Ave.
