- The downtown Casper artisan fair, now called First Thursday, kicks off tonight! The event promotes art by gathering the community of art lovers, artists, and other art organizations together to allow people to enjoy and discuss art. While the event is the same as Art Walk, the rebrand comes through the Casper nonprofit Art 321, which is helping the organizers put this event on as they did not have the capacity to put on the event and ensure its success without help. Tonight's event will start at 5:30 p.m. and will include live music and vendor booths! (Casper Star-Tribune)
- The Wyoming National Guard is conducting an emergency response exercise from Jun. 12–15. The exercise will take place in various counties across the state, including Natrona County. The exercise is aimed to simulate a disaster scenario to train the national guard, homeland security, first responders, and other important stakeholders about what to do during a crisis event and how to work together to ensure public safety and preparedness. While the exercises take place, there will be military vehicles and aircraft in certain areas. The Wyoming National Guard has made an effort to minimize the impact on the public but some roads may also be closed near training sights; follow the emergency personnel's instructions for detours. - A Colorado man died in Casper after crashing into a boulder with his motorcycle. The accident happened on Sunday, May 27 on Yellowstone Highway. Trenton Houck, 23, was driving east at a high speed when he was unable to navigate the left turn just east of Poplar Street. Houck lost control of the motorcycle, sending him off to the right side of the road where he hit a boulder and was thrown off the motorcycle. The highway patrol says Houck was not wearing a helmet.
