(VIDEO) Casper City Council to vote on coming year's utility rates (oilcity.news) — Casper residents could see higher water, sewer, and trash bills as City Council votes Tuesday on significant utility rate increases, including 8% for water and 34% for sewer. The 6 p.m. meeting at City Hall also covers major road and water projects, river rehabilitation work, and public hearings on a liquor license transfer and rezoning, with a livestream available.

Man Renovating Home Finds Hidden Letter-Then Comes Reunion 100 Years Later (fresnobee.com) — A Casper homeowner’s renovation of his 1917 house led to the discovery of a century-old letter hidden in a wall, written to early Casper community member Cornelis “Con” Shea. After researching Shea’s life, the homeowner tracked down living relatives and mailed the letter to them, turning a stressful remodel into a touching cross-country family reunion.
   

3. Alleged Hiland store burglars from Fremont crash in sagebrush after shop owner pursues (county10.com) — Two Fremont County men are accused of burglarizing a shuttered Hiland store, then crashing their van and being found on Highway 20/26 between Casper and Shoshoni after a long pursuit. Investigators say one suspect claimed the van was stolen while he was in Casper, but shoe prints, video, and a dropped car battery helped link them to the scene. Both now face burglary, theft, and property destruction charges.
   

4. Man deported for sixth time following crash, DUI arrest in Cody (wyomingnews.com) — A Mexican citizen living in Cody was deported for the sixth time after a recent DUI arrest, capping a long history of immigration and identity theft cases across Wyoming. Federal records say he once bought and used a Casper resident’s personal information to secure oilfield work and open a bank account, leading to earlier felony convictions and prison time.
   

5. Men's Basketball closes preseason play with 12-straight wins (etvnews.com) — Casper hoops fans might like knowing the Casper College Thunderbirds just pushed Utah State Eastern to the wire in a one-point thriller at the Snow College Holiday Invitational. Despite multiple runs, Eastern edged out an 85–84 win before beating Western Nebraska, closing preseason on a 13–2 record.
