- According to a report from the Wyoming Department of Workforce Services, the mining sector, including oil and gas, experienced the highest job growth in Wyoming from the last quarter of 2021 to 2022. With a 3.4 percent increase in jobs, Natrona County saw an increase of 1,434 positions during this time, primarily driven by growth in the mining sector. (Gillette News Record)
- Kid's Fishing Day is set to take place at Yesness Pond in Casper on Saturday, Jun. 3. Children aged 14 and under can participate in free fishing from 9 a.m. to 1 p.m. The pond will be stocked with over 1,500 trout, and the first 50 kids to catch a fish will receive prizes. The event will also feature educational tours covering topics such as bird watching, fish anatomy, and the pond's ecosystem, along with goodie bags for all participants. (Star Tribune)
- The Community Candlelight Remembrance event will be held on May 23, where attendees can gather to honor their loved ones who have passed away by lighting candles and sharing memories. The event will take place at 7:00 p.m. in the Kloefkorn Home Gardens in Casper and is open to the entire community. (K2 Radio)

- Starting on Monday, May 15, National Police Week begins alongside National Peace Officers Memorial Day, which was established in 1962 to pay tribute to law enforcement officers who have made sacrifices in the line of duty. Wyoming has experienced a total of 61 line-of-duty deaths since 1877. The Casper Police Department has blue ribbons available for those who want to show support. (Oil City)
