• Casper officials agree to pen letter against proposed pumped storage project in Carbon County (oilcity.news) — Casper’s city council has agreed to send a formal letter opposing a proposed pumped storage project near Seminoe Reservoir, citing ecological risks and potential harm to local recreation and tourism. City leaders, local groups like Friends of the North Platte, and Trout Unlimited worry about impacts on bighorn sheep habitat, trout fisheries, and the broader Natrona County economy, even though the project sits in neighboring Carbon County.
• Man gets suspended sentence on arson count in domestic violence incident (oilcity.news) — A Casper man received a suspended four- to five-year prison sentence and three years of supervised probation after a February domestic violence and arson incident that drew a large emergency response. After spending most of the year in jail, he’ll now be required to stay on prescribed medication and follow probation terms set by the Natrona County court.
