Natrona County Fire Protection District announces new permit requirements, website (oilcity.news) — New permit rules for fire alarms, sprinklers, hood systems, and other fire protection work in Natrona County — including Casper — take effect Jan. 1, and all inspections must now be handled through a new online portal. Contractors and property owners will need to create accounts, request inspections, and have third-party testing and maintenance reports uploaded through the ncfpdpermits.com system by mid-March.

Casper Police Department team provides services to crime victims (wyomingnews.com) — Casper residents who experience serious crimes can turn to the Casper Police Department’s victim services team for immediate help with safety, housing, counseling, and court support. Coordinator Leslie Fritzler and a corps of trained local volunteers respond on-scene, connect victims with state compensation and resources, and provide ongoing guidance so survivors aren’t left to navigate trauma alone.

3. Gordon Says Revoke National Adoption Award For Casper Man Who Abused Kids (cowboystatedaily.com) — Wyoming Gov. Mark Gordon is asking federal officials to revoke a 2013 National Adoption Excellence Award from a couple after one spouse received a lengthy prison sentence for abusing children. The case was investigated in Natrona County, and a woman raised in the Casper area helped spur the governor’s action after learning disturbing trial details from a relative involved in the investigation.

4. Robert Dan Olson (codyenterprise.com) — Longtime Wyoming attorney and community member Robert “Bob” Olson passed away in Casper on December 22, just days before his 89th birthday. Raised in the Big Horn Basin and later a Cody city attorney for 28 years, he is remembered as a people-loving family man and devoted Latter-day Saint. A Celebration of Life is planned next summer in Byron, where his ashes will rest beside his late wife, Faye.
