Historic Rock Springs Church Faces Closure After A Century Of Worship (cowboystatedaily.com) — A century-old Rock Springs landmark, Saints Cyril and Methodius Catholic Church, has been closed and its parishioners directed to Our Lady of Sorrows while the historic building is prepared for sale to help fund a new parish campus. Longtime members are organizing a nonprofit and petition drive to buy and preserve the church as an active Catholic worship space, emphasizing its deep immigrant roots and place on the National Register of Historic Places.
   

2. RS Council approves First Security building sale (wyo4news.com) — Rock Springs residents will see new life at the former First Security Bank building after the City Council unanimously approved its $415,000 sale to developer Kody Watts. He plans to convert the downtown property into a mixed-use project with 17 apartments above possible ground-floor retail, though parking for future tenants remains a key challenge to resolve.

Adkin completes internship in Downtown Rock Springs (wyomingnews.com) — An internship in Downtown Rock Springs just earned local student Adara Akin special recognition from Sweetwater County BOCES. Working through the URA/Broadway Theater’s busiest season, she helped with operations and community outreach while mastering key theater systems. Leaders say the partnership is strengthening real-world career preparation for Rock Springs youth.
   

5. Cutest Canines Contest raises over $3,000 for local animal shelters (wyomingnews.com) — Rock Springs residents helped raise more than $3,000 for Red Desert Humane Society and Rock Springs Animal Control through a “Cutest Canines” photo contest. Community members paid $1 per vote, crowning a mystery dog named Donald as the calendar cover star. Shelter leaders say the funds will directly support food, supplies, and care for local animals.
