BIRMINGHAM, AL — Two women have been arrested in connection with a Feb. 27 shooting incident that injured a 2-year-old child. The incident occurred at a residence in the 200 block of Boxwood Circle.

The preliminary investigation revealed that an altercation among adults occurred, which resulted in shots being fired, Sgt. Rod Mauldin said. The child was struck by the gunfire, then taken by private vehicle to St. Vincent's East, where the child has undergone a series of surgeries and is in stable condition.
