Local psychologist Dr. Josh Klapow urges families to host alcohol-free gatherings and build safe environments, while national hotlines like 988 remain available around the clock for anyone in crisis.
   

4. Round Two! Porchay Among Top Twenty Five in Music Educator of the Year Voting (jacksonparishjournal.com) — Birmingham will host the 2026 Sound Award Ceremony on February 27, where the Music Educator of the Year will be announced, and voting is underway now. One of the top 25 contenders is Louisiana band director Trey Porchay, whose revived high school marching band has earned regional acclaim while supporters are urged to keep voting through January 10.

  • Lady has been spotted on the Trillium Trail in Ruffner and ran towards Vanderbilt/ 77th street.
    She has escaped from her harness and it was found in the Ruffner woods heading towards 74th street. Please call with any sightings! (Nextdoor South Eastlake / Ruffner)
  • So around 3 PM as my family was getting ready to sit down to our Christmas dinner, they thought they’d come back to Integrity Church parking lot and shoot off some more fireworks.
