2-Year-Old Child Shot In Birmingham
For the second time in less than a month, a toddler was the victim of gun violence in Birmingham. This incident occurred Saturday night.
BIRMINGHAM, AL — For the second time in a month, a 2-year-old child was wounded in Birmingham by gunfire. The latest incident occurred Saturday in the 200 block of Boxwood Circle.
The child was taken by private vehicle to St. Vincent's East, according to Sgt. Rod Mauldin of the Birmingham Police Department. Mauldin said the Birmingham PD received a call from the hospital regarding the child's injuries, and said the injuries are life-threatening.
The preliminary investigation suggests that an altercation among adults occurred, which resulted in shots being fired, Mauldin said.

No arrests have been made in the case, and Birmingham police are asking anyone with information on the case to call 205-254-1764 .
This incident is the second in less than a month involving a 2-year-old child being shot. A Feb. 4 shooting at the Kimbrough Homes apartment complex in the 2900 block of John Bryant Road resulted in the death of 2-year-old Major Turner.
