27-Year-Old Man Dies In Birmingham Shooting
Police have a person in custody after a shooting in Birmingham claimed the life of a 27-year-old man Tuesday night.
BIRMINGHAM, AL — A 27-year-old man is dead and a person is in police custody after a shooting Tuesday night in Birmingham. The incident occurred just after 9 p.m. in the 1600 block of 13th Avenue North.
Police found Jubraun Wright dead on the scene with multiple gunshot wounds, according to Sgt. Rod Mauldin of the Birmingham Police Department. Shortly after the incident, a person suspected to have been involved in the shooting reported to the Jefferson County Sheriff’s Office to surrender.
Mauldin said information gathered in the case indicates an altercation occurred prior to Wright being shot. This case will be presented to the Jefferson County District Attorney’s Office for review.
