Arrest Made In Deadly Shooting At Birmingham Apartment Complex

A man has been arrested in connection with a May 12 shooting at Monarch Ridge apartments in Birmingham.

BIRMINGHAM, AL — An arrest has been made in the deadly May 12 shooting of Keith Hardy at an apartment complex in Birmingham. Police say 20-year-old Quanderius Sanders has been charged with capital murder in the case.

Hardy was shot and killed just after 8 a.m. May 12 at Monarch Ridge apartments on Gallant Drive. Sgt. Rod Mauldin of the Birmingham Police Department said Hardy was sitting inside his vehicle having a conversation with someone in a silver SUV. The passenger in the SUV exited and fired shots into Hardy's vehicle.

According to police reports, Hardy attempted to drive away and struck multiple cars in the parking lot. He was pronounced dead on the scene.

Sanders is being held at the Jefferson County Jail without bond.
