Arrest Made In Deadly West Birmingham Shooting

Birmingham police have arrested a woman in connection with the deadly shooting of Montrell Fredrickgus Holloway.

BIRMINGHAM, AL — A woman has been arrested and charged with the Sunday night murder of 22-year-old Montrell Holloway. Chelsie Jones, 27, of Birmingham was taken into custody shortly after the shooting and was formally charged Tuesday.

Sgt. Rod Mauldin of the Birmingham Police Department said Jones is charged with capital murder and is in custody at the Jefferson County Jail with no bond.

Holloway was found dead inside the home at 1635 Alameda Ave., just after 6 p.m. Saturday, and witnesses said he had been shot during a domestic dispute, according to police.

Mauldin said information obtained during the investigation indicates the incident occurred in

the presence of juveniles under the age of 12 who were related to Holloway.
