Arrest Made In Shooting Death Of Woman In East Birmingham
Birmingham police have made an arrest in the Feb. 20 shooting death of 33-year-old Lateshia Danner.

BIRMINGHAM, AL — The boyfriend of a woman killed in east Birmingham has been arrested and charged with the woman's murder. Lateshia Danner, 33, was shot and killed Feb. 20 in the 7600 block of 2nd Ave. North.
Sgt. Rod Mauldin of the Birmingham Police Department said Leonard Tolbert, 37, turned himself in to police and is in the custody of the Jefferson County Jail with no bond.
Mauldin said Danner and Tolbert were involved in a verbal altercation that escalated into gunfire. Danner was taken to UAB Hospital where she was pronounced dead.

Tolbert was arrested earlier this year on domestic violence charges involving Danner and was released.
