  1. Birmingham was named the best city in Alabama to visit with your dog. The popular website Livability named The Magic City the winner, thanks to a number of dog-friendly breweries, dog parks, and more. Take a look at the spots that got national attention from the site and helped Birmingham claim this title! (Bham Now)
  2. The deadline is approaching to apply for Birmingham Promise. The program, which started in 2020, offers tuition assistance for seniors who want to go on to attend a two- or four-year public institution in the state of Alabama. Seniors in Birmingham City Schools are eligible to apply through Jun. 1. (WVTM13 Birmingham)
  3. A Birmingham native and Alabama State University honor student has been awarded a scholarship that will allow her to fulfill her dream of helping at-risk kids. Iyanah Scarbrough is the recipient of the 2022 Wells Fargo HBCU College Completion Scholarship Program, which is sponsored by the Thurgood Marshall College Fund (TMCF). The criminal justice major has worked numerous jobs to help her stay in school full-time; receiving this scholarship will lessen her financial burden as she prepares to graduate this week.
